We recommend a morning ceremony at 11am, as this generally provides the best weather for the day, and allows your wedding / marriage ceremony to end perfectly for lunch, afternoon spa treatments, and then a romantic dinner. Of course, we would be delighted to work with you if you have your own general ideas or specific requirements. But our suggested itinerary / Balinese wedding package is :
1) The afternoon before, a visit to the local sea temple (a short walk along the beach) in traditional Balinese dress, to learn about Balinese / Hindu culture and protocol. Such a visit is not an attempt to compromise your own beliefs, but to help you understand better the people and joy of Bali. During this time, you will see our staff preparing the grounds for the next day with special "Penjor" (wedding poles / arches made from long bamboo canes and reed like dry leaves) and "Umbul-Umbul" (colourful banners on poles).
2) Early morning breakfast from your Villa Bale (dining pavilion). Afterwards, a milk bath and facial for the bride-to-be in our spa, while the groom perhaps takes a swim / walk. Then back to the villa to be attended by our own and Bali Exotic Weddings staff to prepare you both for the ceremony ahead. You may order the use of either traditional Balinese wedding dress, or western wedding clothes - your choice. If you prefer to bring your own, or have some made for you in Bali at extra cost, this is not a problem. Western hairdresser and / or make up beautician can also be provided at extra cost.
3) Ceremony on either the lawn or in the Spa building, according to weather / preference. Attended by four girls in traditional Balinese dress, with professional western photographer to record the happy occasion. Attendance of local Hindu priest (for Balinese / blessing ceremony) and / or your choice of Protestant, Catholic, Muslim, Buddhist or Hindu priest (depending on your religion for a legal wedding). Please note, legal weddings must then be officiated with a 10 minute service performed by the local local civil registrar.
4) The newlyweds (perhaps after a change of clothes) and any guests may then have lunch. Special luncheons, lunch for additional persons and wedding cakes can be provided at additional cost. Special honeymooners lunch comprises of fresh, locally caught grilled / BBQ fish served with local dips (sambals) with special rice or potatoes and vegetables. Freshly squeezed juices and / or fresh coconuts are provided for drinks.
5) The afternoon allows you time on your own, and time together in the privacy of our Spa where you will have exclusive domain and the undivided attention of our spa / massage staff, whilst enjoying one of our specialist teas. Just prior to dusk, the large bath tub will be prepared with a floral bath for you both. And as the skies turn red, you will be left on your own with the most sensational view in the area, each other's company and a bottle of properly chilled Champagne.
6) After you have finished. Dinner and a cultural performance set up just for you. From the comfort of your own villa's dining Bale (grass thatched pavilion), set over lotus / lily / fish ponds. We will illuminate the grounds with candles (placed in special Balinese, outdoor candle holders), and float candles around your Bale. A local Gamelan (traditional Balinese music) group will play music, and your choice of either an adult or children's dance group will perform the Ramayana in front of you.
