balinese bales

thatched pavilions over lotus / lily / fish ponds

Balinese Bales
This shot shows just how well shaded our grounds are as a result of our eco-friendly policies. In fact, when you walk around the grounds / villas, you will see coconut palms apparently growing out of the lotus ponds and their walls. Of course, they did not grow out from them. We simply built around them. If you look closely at the lotus pond wall in front of the nearest bale, you will see this. Also, as with other open wall buildings at the resort (the villa's balconies, the spa and the restaurant), the bales have wooden roller blinds, in case the breeze gets too strong or the conversation too private! The nearest bale has it's two front blinds down in this picture.

Here you can see the the villa bales in a line. Large enough to seat 6 around a large, teak dining table comfortably. They are also a wonderful place to sit and watch the day go past, as each have wonderful sea views. Set over lotus ponds rich in fish (Coy Carp), frogs, dragonflies and a duck, and with a gentle 3 tier Balinese stone fountain by the side. These are incredibly relaxing places to sit. To see a 360 degree virtual tour of our bales please check out our virtual tours page.
